The town of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ is preparing to apply for grants available thru NJ’s Drive Green program. If approved, they will be looking to install EV chargers in town. In addition to the obvious benefits for residents and visitors, installing an EV charger is also a key component of the town’s efforts to earn a Silver designation from Sustainable Jersey.
We talked about this program during a past event with Sustainable Jersey! (Previous virtual event & PowerPoint slides)
As part of the certification process, residents are holding a public awareness event near the Point Pleasant Beach Farmers Market, which is currently running every Sunday from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
The market itself is held at the gazebo on the corner of Rt. 35 and Arnold Ave, across the street from the train station. We are setting the cars up in the train station parking lot across the street from the Post Office (Post Office address is 410 Arnold Ave, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742). There will be several EVs and PHEVs attending. We've been asked to bring Tesla's and talk to the public about our cars to bring awareness to EVs and introduce the public to them to help them reach their goal.
