A DVTOC Monthly Virtual Education Meetup
In this virtual event, Rick Denzian will discuss his experience with taking his home off of the electrical grid with solar power this year. He will answer general questions about transitioning to solar energy and backup power.
Rick and his wife Debra, both muscians, are climate and clean energy advocates. Rick stopped flying to music gigs in 2007 but did not have an EV Leaf until 2013 and his first Tesla in 2018. Since then, he has electrified every aspect of their home & studio business. No more fossil fuel for anything. In 2016 he re-roofed his home with an Eco Star cedar shake product made from recycled rubber & plastic bottles that carries a 100-year warranty. The DIY solar project was part of the roofing process. Though there were many struggles, the solar home finally achieved off grid capability 2023. “Nothing lowers your electric bill as much as not using grid electricity at all”, says Rick
When registering for this event you will have the opportunity to submit quesions for Rick in advance. Having the questions in advance allows us to research the answers and provide more detailed and accurate responses.
