Rafael de Mestre, the first man to drive around the world with a production EV, will be joining DVTOC for a special virtual meet and greet. Rafael, who lives in Germany, is currently on his 4th trip around the world, this time in his 2016 Model S. Joining him is Zdenek Martinek from the Czech Republic traveling in a Model 3 accompanied by his wife and their 3 young children.
The 80edays name comes from the 2016 around the world trip which was done in a world record 80 days. The goals are to take the fear from long distance EV trips, showcase the endurance of electric cars, motivate nations to visit each other emissions free, and get acquainted with other cultures and opinions, and make new friends.
Join us to ask Rafael and Zdenek questions and to hear stories of their challenges (particularly with charging adapters) and awesome adventures so far, which earlier this month included participation in the Moorestown, NJ 4th of July parade and a photo op at the Statue of Liberty.
